I recommend this product.
I turned 60 and I am trying to either gain back or maintain flexibility and driver distance in my golf swing and this product is very useful. This has five pounds of weight on both the left and rip hip. And you can hit golf balls with it on-it doesn't interfere with you golf swing. It recommends making 20 to 25 practice swings each day. I think you should start out with much lower reps and work yourself up to that level. I took this to the driving range and hit 25 golf balls with a 6 iron.It started to feel a little uncomfortable so I took it off. I could feel my hips and weigh transfer moving much faster and smoother as I hit more practice balls-that is the good news. The next day I played in my golf league and my hips felt a little sore which means I over did it-but this also mean it did exercise muscles in my hips and and other core muscles. I exercise a lot at the YMCA I do Nautilus and the Stairmaster so I am in good shape. If you have issues with you lower back, hips or knees I would be careful about using this product. I live in North Dakota and this will be be a good exercise equipment when winter comes. You could also use a medicinge ball with this and simulate a golf swing. I also have a short weighted golf club. It can be used indoors without a golf club. I have been swinging in my back yard with a Medicus dual hinge 5 iron with this belt on. This equipment does make you feel how your hips rotate. Having a correct and faster weight swift in your swing will generate more power-both from the centrifugal force your body generates plus from correctly using your core and leg muscle to transfer power to the clubhead-but that has to be done in the right sequences of your swing. You will need to have some knowledge of how a golf swing works. This product come with a DVD but there could be more information on using this product. Butch Harmon endorses this product and is in the DVD-There should be a golf lesson on the correct weigh shift/ basic golf swing and how this product can be used to achieve that. The weights are easy attach to the belt. I think you could do exercises with a weight only on one side-but you do want to balance the muscles that you exercise on both sides of your body. Also it would be great if you could get different weights for this belt 2 lbs,7 lbs,10 lbs etc for those of different strenghts- I don't think they offer those options. This belt won't give you a good golf swing by itself-you will have to know about the basic fundamentals of a golf swing and you will have to discpline yourself to use this belt on a regular basis-but go slow. This belt will make you aware of how you hips move in a golf swing and I am getting more distance ufrom using it.
